Our Services

CRON Graphics focuses on supporting customers in growing their business in more operationally efficient manner, and by seamlessly evolving their printing system to meet current and future demands.

Pre-sales and Post-sales Services

We come in before customers making the purchase decision, by providing the correct information. Customers get informed with respect to the options, features and specs of products and services. Next to common questions regarding the features and usability of products and services, other inquiries may include topics such as how to buy certain products, what the policies are with regards to warranty and returns, or even which model the company recommends in a specific situation and the purchasing model (outright purchase or rental or installment).

We also provide after-sales customer support services, ranging from answering customers’ questions about how to use the product, to initiating and guiding an RMA request. Our staff is trained on a regular basis to make sure that we provide the service our customers expect to guarantee customer satisfaction. With the diversity of products, services and technologies that we support, CRON Graphics has built an extensive and solid customer service framework; with product features & soft skills trainings, procedures, diagnosing & trouble shooting manuals and best practices. This allows us to identify the issue quickly, and resolve it faster, providing a better customer service experience.

Specialized Services

For offset to remain as a competitive printing platform, makeready times continue their compression times – and automation is a key driver. To prepare our printers to face these challenges, CRON has digitized the entire process, from plate images and processing to ink and density controls. Everything is measurable and repeatable.

To expedite faster makereadies, CRON provides press operators with ready-made color profiles, which shorten set up because there is no registration by hand and no need to manually adjust ink presets. Byproducts, so to speak, are reduced paper waste and ink waste (up to 140 fewer sheets are required to get to color) as well as improved, more consistent print quality, not to mention more efficient overall production. Press operators save an average of seven minutes per job. For the printing firm owner, the return on investment (ROI) translates to typical savings ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 per year.

Flexible Options

The competitive demands of today’s markets call for high-quality, drum-based computer-to-plate (CTP) devices  that can image low-priced positive or negative ultraviolet (UV) plates. For those print firms who prefer to stay with their thermal or violet plate offerings, quality and performance also is offered in an affordable and productive package. That’s because the flexible design of CRON CTP systems allows them to be configured with either one of the three standard exposing technologies (laser types) and plate-emulsion wavelengths:

  1. Thermal (830 nanometers)

  2. Violet (405nm)

  3. UV (360-450nm)

Closed-loop process control ensures stability and consistency. Also, CRON’s state-of-the-art external drum CTP yields optimum quality, faster productivity, peace of mind (warranty), no mandatory service contracts, a small footprint, simple or full automation -- all at competitive price points for a fast return on investment (ROI).

Birth of CRON Conventional Digital Print

CRON has introduced the concept of Conventional Digital Print to leverage the digitization that has taken place in the graphic arts industry and bring these efficiencies to the conventional offset print process.

It was demonstrated at Graph Expo 2014 that the CRON CTP system with the Ryobi 920 press provided the lowest total manufacturing cost of run lengths as short as 750 to 1,000 sheets.

The combination of CRON CTP’s industry-leading 1% dot-gain allowance was emphasized throughout the live demos. “The images and workflow we presented mirror what commercial, in-plant, packaging and specialty printers produce every day. At the Chicago show, we plated and printed live jobs every hour to highlight the speed, reliability and versatility of our system,” Barbour noted.

CRD in GRAPH EXPO (NORTH AMERICA)

Breakpoints between digital and offset print have never been more closely contested. At GRAPH EXPO 14, the Graphic Systems North America (GSNA) “Commit to Print” exhibit showed printers how a RYOBI MHI LED-UV offset workflow can provide the lowest total manufacturing cost on run lengths as short as 750 to 1,000 sheets—together with production levels exceeding 2,100 instantly cured and ready-to-sell letter-size sheets per minute in a 16-page signature format for ease of finishing.

Attendees at the latest GRAPH EXPO witnessed a new player in the North American CTP arena: A few days before the show opened in Chicago, Hangzhou CRON Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. (CRON), China’s largest CTP manufacturer, announced its entry into the North American graphic communications market via a joint venture with ECRM Imaging Systems, a global leader in imaging technologies for the graphic communications industry.

In the Graphic Systems North America (GSNA) booth, CRON CTP technology was featured in demonstrations on a five-color, 8-up RYOBI MHI 925 press. Incidentally, the LED-UV equipped press, which earned a 2014 MUST SEE ’EMS award, was the only offset “iron” running live at the show.

Celebrating a successful first year as the North American distributor for RYOBI MHI, GSNA’s “Commit to Print” exhibition also emphasized the CRON UVP 36 metal CTP and Blackwood plates, one of the most versatile and cost-efficient combinations available today.

“Seeing is believing in the world of print,” said Don Barbour, chairman and co-founder of GSNA. “At each of our open house events, customers told us they had no idea this powerful combination of offset technology was within their financial reach. So we decided to showcase that message and the technology on an international stage.”
